  • The Triple P - Positive Parenting Program

Triple P offers a wide range of parenting programs so parents can choose how much help they need, and how they get it. Some might like the support of a group course and others may prefer one-on-one consultations. Or you might like to attend a parenting seminar. Take your pick or talk through your options with us.

    The Triple P options

    Seminars - Triple P in a nutshell
This is a series of three 90-minute seminars designed for parents of children up to 12 years. A series is also available for parents of teens. Each of the seminars tackle the most common issues faced by parents on a day-to-day basis. You'll get tip sheets to take home so you can start positively parenting straight away!

Group Triple P - build your parenting skills in a small group
Group Triple P offers parents a chance to learn about effective parenting in a small group setting, with a maximum of 12 in each group. Parents learn how to manage their children's behaviour and prevent the kinds of problems which can make family life stressful. The course is made up of five group sessions and three individual follow up sessions by telephone. Right from the start you will learn effective tips and strategies to try at home.

    Discussion Groups
These sessions tackle those common problems like disobedience, fighting and aggression, hassles with kids at mealtime and bedtime. One of our psychologists runs the two-hour workshops for small groups of parents, helping them to develop a parenting plan. Parents learn positive parenting strategies and have the opportunity to practice parenting skills and problem solving. Everyone gets a work book which includes practical exercises to support them at home when they put into practice on what they've learned at their Triple P Discussion Group.
    Discussion group topics include:
    • Dealing with disobedience
    • Managing fighting and aggression
    • Developing good bedtime routines
    • Hassle-free shopping with children
